Heartland Helpers is open to students in 4th and 5th grades. It meets on Fridays before school in the Library Media Center. This group performs acts of service to Heartland and our community. The students assist with recycling, promoting school events and other service projects such as making dog blankets and toys and collecting and sorting used clothing to donate to local charities.     Lights! Camera! Action! WHRT is Heartland's morning announcements broadcast program. Students in 4th and 5th grades can join this group that meets before school. The program is operated by two 5th grade students who rotate quarterly to run the software and hardware equipment and overseen by a staff member. A five student crew rotates bi-weekly through different jobs daily; namely anchors, weather/fun fact, scroll and camera. WHRT sponsors are Mrs. Mathur,  and Ms. Clifton.

    JAG U

    Back by popular demand, Jag U offers after school enrichment classes for a fee. Students can browse the Jag U catalog and register for a class or classes. There are 2 sessions of Jag U, 1 in each semester. Students in grades K-5 can participate in Jag U. The classes meet after school and Mrs. Nicholas is the staff sponsor. Our PTO also sponsors these clubs.



    Safety Patrol is a community service opportunity for 5th-grade students at Heartland. These students arrive early and stay after school to assist teachers with the lower lot car drop off/pick up duties. Look for these responsible students in their safety vests greeting students and opening car doors. Sign up is in the fall. Mrs. Aitken is the sponsor of this group.
