MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETICS AND ACTIVITIES
UPDATE ON SCHOOL-SPONSORED SUMMER ATHLETICS/ACTIVITIES
Blue Valley realizes activities and athletics are a significant part of the total educational experience available to students. We are waiting on additional guidance from the Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) about activities and athletics for the 2020-21 school year. At this time, we will continue with voluntary outdoor summer conditioning. Any further updates about activities and athletics will come from school administrators.
At the middle school level, interscholastic programs including football, volleyball, cross country, wrestling, basketball, track, cheerleading and drill team are "no cut" programs. Interscholastic activities provide opportunities for skill development in an environment that accepts and accommodates diversity in physical development and also play a major role in providing early adolescents with experiences that are essential to building confidence and self-esteem.
