Summer programs are supported by student fee payments. As a result, withdrawals are subject to an administrative fee.

Important Updates

Registration for Summer Explorations courses ended on April 3. The payment window opened April 10. Families with students in courses that were canceled have been contacted to discuss options for their student(s). No new student registrations are being accepted at this time.

Closed classes have reached their registration capacity; students placed on a waitlist may be offered a spot after the payment window has closed.

Canceled classes are no longer being offered.

NOTE: CLOSED/CANCELED is noted next to the Course # under Course Description.

To request a student be placed on the waiting list for a closed course, please contact Terrie Farrell at [email protected] or call 913-239-4246. In the message, be sure to include the course title, course number, student’s full name, and a contact number to reach you.

About

Blue Valley’s Summer Explorations is designed to enrich student learning, even when school is not in session.  It is the goal of the program, through the various summer course offerings, to provide:
•    Continued growth in academic skill
•    Age-appropriate social growth
•    Exploration and development of new talents and interests
•    Caring staff

Summer Exploration courses are revised and updated each year with new classes and opportunities for students.  This is an interest-based program for students who will be going into the 1st-8th grades in the 2024-25 school year.  The classes are taught by certified Blue Valley teachers.  

The programs consists of 3 weekly morning sessions that are offered Monday through Thursday.

Important Dates For Summer Explorations

Registration Opens – March 18, 2024
Registration Closes – April 3, 2024
Payment Window Opens – April 10, 2024 (Pay fees in ParentVUE)
Payment Due By – May 1, 2024 (If payment is not made the student will be dropped from the class)
Session 1 – June 3-6
Session 2 – June 10-13
Session 3 – June 24-27
*No Classes week of June 17th in observance of Juneteenth holiday

Registration/Enrollment Process

The registration process is a 2-part process.

Step 1 – Online Registration 3/18/24 - 4/3/24

Choose a class or classes that are of interest to your student(s) from our online catalog, then go to your ParentVue account to complete the online registration. 

*Registration after the window closes will be considered based upon space and teacher availability.

Step 2 – Online Payment 4/10/24 - 5/1/24

Go to your ParentVue account when the payment window opens and pay for the class(es). Payments cannot be made on cell phones. Please go to your ParentVUE account on a laptop or desktop to make your payment.

*Please note that enrollment is not complete until payment has been made.  Some classes may be cancelled after the online registration window closes due to a lack of enrollment.  You will be notified if this happens to a class you have registered your student for.
