FREE AND REDUCED PROGRAM
As a result of extended USDA funding opportunities, all students enrolled in Blue Valley will be able to eat for FREE as of Sept. 9, 2020, regardless of eligibility status, until further notice. The district is only able to provide free meals to students who are enrolled in Blue Valley School District at this time. This includes meals for students who are dining in-person/hybrid at the elementary level, middle and high school students currently in the Distance Learning model, and all students enrolled in the all-virtual model, VirtualED. Eligibility for this program extension will be available through December 31, 2020, or until allocated Federal funding is exhausted (whichever comes first).
Because this funding is limited, it is important that families continue to submit an updated free/reduced meals application if there is any change in household size or income. Students from families whose income is at or below the level shown on the income guidelines below may be eligible for either free or reduced-price meals. Reduced-price meals are 40 cents per lunch or 30 cents per breakfast. All students are treated the same, regardless of ability to pay. In the operation of the school lunch programs, no child will be discriminated against because of race, sex, color, national origin, age or handicap.
The Free and Reduced Meal Program is an annual program and a new application is required each school year to qualify for benefits. This online format is quick, easy, and confidential. You must use a Chrome browser to access the online application. If your default internet browser is Chrome, begin the online Free and Reduced application in the Titan family/parent portal. If you do not have Chrome as your default browser, please copy and paste this URL https://family.titank12.com/application/new?identifier=TGY6RJ into a Chrome browser.
To submit a paper application, print the pdf below and mail the completed form to Bobbi Valverde at 14950 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66223. If you wish to drop off the application, please call (913) 239-4106 for an appointment or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
