FREE AND REDUCED PROGRAM
-
Students from families whose income is at or below the level shown on the income guidelines below may be eligible for either free or reduced-price meals. Reduced-price meals are 40 cents per lunch or 30 cents per breakfast. All students are treated the same, regardless of ability to pay. Additional items outside of what is considered a meal (a la carte, second entrees, snacks, etc.) are not included in the F&R program and are at full price. In the operation of the school lunch programs, no child will be discriminated against because of race, sex, color, national origin, age or handicap.
The Free and Reduced Meal Program is an annual program, and a new application is required each school year to qualify for benefits. Eligible families may apply for meal benefits for the current school year by submitting a paper application to our Food & Nutrition office address below. If a member of your household receives Food Assistance (FA), or Temporary Assistance to Families (TAF) from the State of Kansas, or you have a Foster student you may not need to apply. Contact Bobbi Valverde at [email protected] if you need to verify your status.
2023-2024 school year applications for the Free and Reduced Meal Program will be available on July 20, 2023. Families are encouraged to complete the application prior to school starting on Aug. 16, 2023, to continue to receive financial assistance with meals, district, and bus fees. Please check back on this site in July for the online link, income guidelines, and paper applications when available.
2023/2024 Kindergarten families: Please wait to apply for the Free & Reduced meal program until July as we are not able to add your incoming kindergarten student until the new school year begins.
