DISTRICT ACCOLADES

  • The following are just some of the many distinctions Blue Valley Schools and its students have recently earned:

     

    • In Forbes’ 2022 Best in State Employers list, Blue Valley Schools ranked #1 overall in Kansas and the #1 ranked school district employer.

    • Blue Valley's ACT composite average for 2022 graduates was 23.7 with 1,720 testers. The state average was 19.9 and the national average was 19.8.

    • 2022 Blue Valley graduates recorded another year of strong SAT scores while exceeding state and national averages.  Blue Valley students scored an average of 1297 on the test that measures math and evidence-based reading and writing. In Kansas, the average is 1238 and nationwide the average is 1050 out of a possible 1600.  While only 2% of Kansas testers took the SAT, 11% of Blue Valley graduates took the SAT.

    • All five Blue Valley high schools earned top 10 recognition on the U.S. News 2022 Best High Schools list for Kansas. College readiness and state assessment performance are key metrics within the rankings.

    • Blue Valley's graduation rate is 97.5 percent.

    • 49 Blue Valley seniors were named 2023 National Merit semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation - the most in a Kansas school district. 

    • Two Blue Valley seniors named 2023 U.S. Presidential Scholars.

    • Four Blue Valley seniors named 2023 U.S. Presidential Scholars semifinalists.

    • The district's bond rating continues to be excellent with an Aaa rating from Moody's and an AA+ rating from Standard & Poor's. The excellent rating helps to save patron tax dollars by allowing the district better interest rates on the bonds sold.

    • The CAPS Network has expanded to 73 programs, across more than 131 school districts in 19 states and three international locations. The CAPS Network continues to gain greater national visibility and awareness.
       
    • Niche released its 2023 Best Schools in America Rankings and Blue Valley tops two Kansas lists-- Districts with the Best Teachers in Kansas and Best School Districts in Kansas. The district was also named a top 100 district in the nation at 69.  Niche’s grades and ranking are calculated using dozens of public data sets and millions of reviews.

    • Leawood Middle student Jonah Stein was named Kansas’ top middle school youth volunteer of 2021 by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, America's largest youth recognition program based exclusively on volunteer service.
