  • Will my child’s district device still be filtered if I do not set up a Securly Home account?

    Posted by:

Yes - if you do not set up a Securly Home account, your child’s district device will continue to be filtered 24/7 following the district-established filters both in and out of school. However, we encourage all families to download the app to take full advantage self-harm push notifications. As a reminder, school personnel may monitor online activity on district devices when students are connected to the BV Network/IP Address, but it is the responsibility of our families to monitor online activity on district devices in the evenings, on weekends, over holidays and during school breaks.

  • When will the rules I set in SecurlyHome be active on my child’s district-provided device?

    Posted by:

Custom rules/filters/limitations established by families through the Securly Home app will be active on their child’s district-provided device anytime the device is NOT connected to the BV Network/IP Address (i.e. at home, on the bus, at the coffee shop, etc.). Whenever the device is connected to the BV Network/IP Address, it will be protected through district filters/rules.

  • What if I have more than one child with a district-provided device? Can I customize rules?

    Posted by:

Yes - Securly Home allows you to monitor internet usage for all children with a district-provided device. In the Activity tab, families can toggle back and forth between children to monitor their online activity in real-time. The Rules tab allows families to set custom filters and block specific sites by child. The “Pause Internet” function, however, will apply to all children.

  • I did not receive an email from Securly to set up a Securly Home account. What do I need to do?

    Posted by:

Securly Home Parent Portal accounts are currently available for families with students who received a district-provided device as part of Blue Valley’s 1:Learner initiative, and were created based on the email address you have listed in ParentVUE. If you do not have a child participating in the 1:Learner program or do not have an email listed in ParentVUE, you would not have received an email to set up Securly Home. To set up an account, make sure you have an email address listed in ParentVUE. If you are unsure if you have an email address listed in ParentVUE or need assistance, call the front office of your oldest child’s school.

  • Can more than one parent/guardian set up a Securly Home account?

    Posted by:

Yes - but only if you have an email address listed in ParentVUE. Each parent/guardian account can edit Securly Home filters in real-time. Please note, if multiple parents/guardians are editing filters, Securly Home will follow the filters most recently established.
