STUDENT ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE

  • ABOUT THE COMMITTEE

     

    The Student Activities committee consists of Board of Education members, parents, students, and school and district administrators. The primary objective of this committee is to provide feedback and recommendations to the Board of Education with the goal of enriching and strengthening the district's many athletic and activities programs. 

     

    Parents with a passion for the positive impact that education-based athletics and activities can have on a young person's life are encouraged to apply for this board committee.​

     

     

    COMMITTEE OBJECTIVES

     

    • Provide feedback recommendations to the Board of Education with the goal of enriching and strengthening the district's many athletic and activities programs.

     

    Members of Board Advisory Committees should conduct themselves in a manner that elevates public discourse and demonstrates good judgment and decorum. Spirited discussion and debate are encouraged. Where there is disagreement, the expectation is that such disagreement is expressed civilly and with respect for other perspectives. Advisory Committee members shall demonstrate respect and civility toward individual District staff members, Board members, or other Advisory Committee members, whether in public meetings or via social media outlets. It is up to each member to maintain a professional and productive environment.

  • Meetings are held in the High Plains Conf. Room, located at the Blue Valley District Office, 15020 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS 66223, from 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
